this little thing right
here is probably:the most polarizing piece of tech that:i've had in my pocket for a long time:and no it is not the iphone g it's in:fact the iphone mini but with a g:skin on it tell me that doesn't look:dope why do i think this phone is:polarizing well when you talk to people:about the mini lineup they either love:it:or they don't really care for it at all:there's:very few people that i've ever met that:are like dead in the middle now if we:were to take a look historically at the:mini lineup of devices when their:renders or their cad files or the:schematics whatever you want to call it:were initially leaked a few years back:people were hyped and rightfully so we:were thinking you know what is this:going to be a brand new iphone or is it:going to be tacked onto an existing line:is this going to be the brand new iphone:se and then we were graced with the:iphone mini and while it had its:hiccups mostly in the battery:compartment i absolutely loved that:phone now if you've been with me for a:while you know that i tend to enjoy:bigger phones so then when i had an:opportunity to try the iphone mini i:was smitten i absolutely loved being:able to use a phone with one hand the:camera was great the processor was great:the screen was:beautiful the battery sucked and then:and then we got news that apple was:gonna take another swing at it for the:iphone
lineup they were going to try again and
the little boy in me was like he's a:bigger battery and i mean i get it like:it's a small phone so really how big of:a battery can you put in here but they delivered apple did in fact put a:bigger battery in the iphone mini so:what we're going to be doing today since:the phone has been out for roughly six:months at this point is i'm gonna tell:you anything and everything i absolutely:love about this particular phone now i'm:gonna tell you right now there's gonna:be no rhyme or reason to the order in:which i talk to you about these things:and i don't usually like using a script:you guys know that i tend to try and:speak from the heart:i'll put chapters to try and help you:around your way but honestly i might:just kind of seem a little disorganized:but stick with me it's part of the fun:yeah all right so number one something:that i still really love about the:iphone mini has not gotten sour on me:is the fact that you can use this phone:with one hand i got small baby hands:look at that do you see:you see i can use this phone with one:hand and the thing is that if you're
night texting or whatever you're doom
scrolling and you're laying in bed and:you happen to drop this on your face it:hurts far less:than an iphone pro max in all:seriousness though really the usability:and reachability as apple calls it is:far greater with a mini device despite:the fact that i don't actually consider:myself having super small hands i can:use this entire keyboard with one hand:i'm not cramping as i do it and it just:makes that whole like i said usability:just far better than it would with a :pro max where you kind of have to play:some hand gymnastics if you're trying to:type with one hand reaching things like:control center up at the top there is a:lot easier to do with one hand as well:again no hand gymnastics required you:can typically hit all corners when:you're using this with one hand so i:mean:huge point for the mini and like i:said that sort of thing doesn't:necessarily go stale i mean you just you:always appreciate that and then you see:other people with these giant brick of:phones and don't get me wrong i'm:probably going to get the pro max:variation of whatever comes out next but:it just it makes you appreciate:something of this size even more number:two as kind of like an aspiring

absolutely love the camera that is on:the mini now of course it's no:professional camera but if we were to:take a look at just the overall power of:it and it's something i said in my:initial impressions video it's probably:one of the:best point-and-shoot cameras that you:can probably get which is also a phone i:did also create a camera comparison:between the iphone pro max and the:iphone mini i'll link it right here:for you:to be totally honest the cameras are:very similar with one another and i:really wanted to make that video just to:kind of prove that point now i've got a:third point that i want to talk about:that held up really really:really:[Music]:let's uh:let's try that again while the phone's:on the opposite side of the room on the:floor because i just:threw it are you okay:that's it's fine we're good we're we're:good that'll teach me for not having a:case on it okay so:one point point number three let's just:get back on track shall we something:i've been really happy with that has

the battery life on the iphone mini:you guys have heard me say it before:i consider myself a power user i am on:my phone:all the time if it has something to do:with content like this if it has:something to do with my regular nine to:five if i'm just simply doom scrolling:if i'm talking to you guys on twitter or:instagram or whatever:this phone can handle it you know:actually you know i'll give you an:example so:yesterday i'd say i probably got my best:usage out of it so far but i was still:on it a lot now i'll give you an idea i:wake up about six o'clock every morning:and i go to bed anywhere between nine:and ten o'clock at night and i was on:this phone a lot yesterday i failed to:get a screenshot of it i know i suck as:a content creator and i still had :of the battery left unreal:for an iphone:mini anything i thought that that was:like i plugged it in i was like:good for you quite frankly using the:iphone mini over the course of the:last six months of course on and off but:more often than not it's been fantastic:i've been really happy with it and i:mean:the other honest part of it is that:people ask questions when they see you:using an iphone of that size because:everybody's used to these ginormous:phones now like oh what is that and i am:super happy to tell
anybody and everybody that is willing to
listen to me about how awesome this:phone is now:despite everything good that i had said:about the phone that doesn't necessarily:mean that there aren't some puzzle:pieces that i feel are:missing and just various things that we:have been asking apple for begging in:some cases for years now and are still:mysteriously not in the devices despite:the fact that the tech is very much:there so number one:in screen touch id i have been barking:up this tree for years if you have been:following me on twitter you know that i:typically tweet about this at least once:a month but it needs to happen okay:everybody else is doing it like:everybody else is doing it like i don't:if blackberry was still making phones:they'd probably also have in-screen:fingerprint sensors it still blows my:mind that in like the age of masks:everywhere always apple was still like:face id and you know what here we'll:make it work with your watch too of:the time it just drove me wild i tried:to take like a bit of a comical stance:on that but quite frankly like really:really if there was going to be a time:to release touch id in screen it would:have been with the iphone lineup:masks were still very much in full swing:we were still dealing with kovid and:i'm sorry but really and truly face id:working
with your your apple watch if you have an apple watch
is bugged at:best and rant on that one number two:an always on display i bring this up:more so just as a fanboy:of:what android is capable of doing with:that you have your samsung devices you:have your pixel devices i'll just name:those too because of the two that i've:also used most commonly always on:display is absolutely clutch i love:being able to just look at the screen of:my phone without having to touch a damn:thing and know exactly what's going on:in my notifications and whether or not i:want to ignore it or not whereas with an:iphone you're either tapping the screen:or you're hitting the lock button or:raised to wake like it's we need to be:done with that apple has already proven:that the tech is there for an always-on:display as a matter of fact i'm wearing:it on my wrist right now and the fact:that we don't have that in the iphones:despite the fact that apple has access:to ltpo displays at hertz if need be:i just i i don't know i just i'm like:why why don't we have this yet and i:feel like apple:can really put a good spin on it for:their iphones now having a phone the:size of this tiny little fingerprint:magnet right here with an always-on:display:i think that just aesthetically would:look really cool:on top of being incredibly useful across:all iphones so if anybody from apple's:watching this and i mean i'm pretty:small on here so highly unlikely but:please like now's the time number three:just to keep things fair:we need to drop to our proprietary
lightning adapter we need uniformity
across all of our usb:connections you know where i'm going:with this usbc:it is time ipad has had it for years max:no default with usbc connectors on them:we know that apple makes usbc to usbc:cables so:why is that still lightning sorry i'm:getting i'm getting heated but like it:really really and truly:why is it still lightning we've been:talking about usbc:on iphones:oh god i think we started talking about:that sort of thing back when like iphone::was still just a leak:still with lightning all right let's:let's move on the fact of the matter if:i were to wrap all of this up in a:nicely:little:bundled package present for you from me:yours truly is that the iphone mini:is a phenomenal phone even six months in:and as a matter of fact i would say it:is probably one of the perfect iphones:for a couple of people one if you're:brand new to apple you want something:that's modernish without necessarily:breaking the bank the iphone mini is:going to get that for you you're going:to get the full screen display you're:going to get one of the best cameras:that apple is capable of making of
course aside from the pro max editions
and:you're going to get amazing battery life:with what we know of course is going to:be a perfect apple processor these:things like we just never have any:problems with the processors inside of:iphones they remain fast for years down:the road and then the other group:would be very similar to the first as:you're not necessarily new to apple and:you don't need or want something that is:massive:but you still want something that is new:go for the mini lineup as a matter of:fact if you've been considering getting:the mini get it because we're also:seeing rumors that this is going to be:the last year that we get a mini device:what that means is it could end up being:a collector's edition:at some point:i'm gonna hang on to mine typically i:tend to buy and sell kind of like a:little side hustle in order for me to:get new gear to review and talk to you:guys about but this little mini phone:here:it's staying i'm keeping it anyway:that's it:oakley's passed out so clearly i bored:the hell out of him i hope you guys:enjoyed this you take care:and i'll see in the next one:you
